About Us

We are both mothers who were passionate about environmental issues at University.  However, we found that as our lives moved on and we had children, it was easy to slip into a slumber where we began to make less eco-friendly choices.

We started this site to help others who, like us, are keen to provide the very best future for our children.

By doing some of the homework for you, we hope it will be easier for more of us to make some of the simple changes that can really make a difference to the sustainability of our planet.

We use our Diary aliases to protect our families' privacy.

Eco-Worrier: holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a Graduate Diploma in Health Science (Nutrition Medicine).

Desperate Housewife: holds a BSc (physiology & biological chemistry) and an MBA (technology management).

What you've said

Although my eyes are half asleep, I still wanted to email you right away and tell you that I think what you are doing is fantastic and that you have made me feel more empowered and even excited about making a difference. I will pass this site on to some friends and family who also care about the future of our planet. I think the diaries are a really good idea for other mums to read as well, it makes it all feel so much "closer to home". So thanks and keep up the great work girls!                                                                                                                                                             Michelle

Love your site - it is really good to see someone doing something similar in Brisbane.  I have linked to you from the weblogs section of my home page - and yes you can definately link to me - I would just love that.  I have a two year old so will def keep an eye on your site - good one.  Check out my Greenfoot at www.greenfoot.com.au        Trina

One of the signs of this coming change are the number of people, young or rapidly plummeting into middle age like us, who are bypassing the conventional and taking it upon themselves to get the word out there in any way they can.   Three great examples of this are EcoMum, Global Dawning and Babs2Brisbane                      Jeff from www.bellis.info

Hi and CONGRATULATIONS on a wonderful website which I will be sure to visit frequently and refer my friends to.   I have recently read Living the Good Life by Linda Cockburn and the mindblowing information of how our earth's energy is wasted and the negative impact on the environment has been a wake up call for me.   I recommend this book.  It is an enjoyable read with so much information.    My habits are changing as my awareness awakens.   I also recommend greenfleet.com.au Thank you so much for helping to bring me to the realisations we must all realise to do what we can to help and protect our world.   Yours sincerely                                                                                                      Tiffany

What a great site you have set up - and local!                                                                                                      Karen

Congratulations on getting your site up and running, it looks great. Thanks for promoting the Nature Challenge, and best wishes for success with EcoMum!                                                                      Best,   Randi (David Suzuki website)

Did I tell you your site was great yet?  Anyway, it is.  Really logically organised, interesting, full of good information (and pretty).                                                                                                                                                                     Trish
